And he cried to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a log, and he threw it into the water, and the water became sweet. There the Lord made for them a statue and a rule, there He tested them saying, "If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in His eyes, and give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer.
-Exodus 15: 25-26
During the Exodus, the people travelling came upon some water. Unfortunately, the water was too bitter to drink, and the people began to grumble at Moses. Moses cried out to God to make the water drinkable. God instructed Moses of what to do and the water became sweet.
Then the Lord told the people that if they followed His commandments that He would not inflict the diseases that He had inflicted on the Egyptians.
In that statement God showed that He was in control of those things which make people sick to the point of death. They call Him, "Jehovah Rapha, "the Lord your healer."
There is no greater healer to give our sicknesses to than Him. May we lay our concerns before His feet. Amen!
